Penny Summers- Guest Speaker
Penny introduced the Board to the new Inclusivity Committee that is being chaired by Penny and Kathy Durham. There are currently 14 members on the committee and Penny invited anyone interested to join. A 3 year Strategic Plan was devised in order to make Canterbury a more diverse and inclusive community. The first phase is the development of the "Newcomber News" which gives new families an introduction to the traditions at Canterbury. It will be published quarterly. The next phase focuses on Socio-Economic Diversity and the committee is trying to decide what traditions should continue (i.e. the dress code clothing exchange, birthday guidelines), which ones should we discontinue (i.e. consider lowering fees for the Auction and the Golf Tournament so more can attend) and what new things should we begin (i.e. equipment loans for Venture Out programs). The next meeting of the Inclusivity Committee is scheduled for February 18th and all are welcome to attend.
