Letter from the CPA President

Dear Parents,

As President of the Canterbury Parents' Association(CPA) I would like to start by welcoming all of our new parents to our community. Congratulations on becoming a part of what I feel is one of the most fabulous schools around. Now that your decision is made, you are able to sit back and watch your child grow and blossom in so many ways. As the parent of a 5th grader, I cannot believe how fast time is flying by. I still feel like it was just yesterday that we were entering a kindergarten classroom, and now he is beginning his last year of lower school.

This leads to the next point that I want to make. Now that you and your family are a part of the Canterbury community, please let me encourage you to jump right in and get involved. As parents of Canterbury students you are a member of the Canterbury Parents' Association(CPA). There are many different volunteer opportunities at our school - something for everyone! By volunteering and becoming involved in our school you will get to know parents and teachers and will feel more connected to the school as a whole. Most importantly, it will thrill your child! Each time my son flashes that smile when he sees me, I know I will be back!

As I said earlier, the CPA is open to all parents, whether you are an active chair or just interested in learning more about what is happening at school. Our meetings are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month in Berry Hall at 8:00 a.m., after morning carpool. Please join us for a meeting and find ways that you might like to get involved. You can find the meeting schedule on the school's calendar.

Please take the time to consider how you can play an active role in the Canterbury community! Feel free to call me at home at 288-7765 or email me with any questions that you might have regarding volunteer opportunities.

In closing, I know that the upcoming year will be filled with many wonderful experiences for your child and your family. Enjoy every minute because as I said earlier, time flies!
