Overview

Canterbury School offers an exceptional educational program that challenges our students’ minds and nourishes their spirits. Canterbury’s unique curriculum is designed to help students find their academic strengths and individual talents, deepen their faith, and develop into respectful community members with a clear sense of civic responsibility. We are the only independent school in Greensboro with a high and low ropes course.  Canterbury's Venture Out program provides students with unparalleled opportunities to develop leadership skills through outdoor education.

At Canterbury, students in every grade level benefit from a challenging academic program that develops fundamental skills in reading, mathematics, writing, science, and social studies, and an enriched course of study that includes art, music, physical education, and foreign language. Learning is enhanced by state-of-the-art technology, which teachers integrate fully into classroom instruction. Teachers, 56% of whom have advanced degrees, have an average of 12 years of experience, and they develop a supportive relationship with each of our students, providing extra help when appropriate and extra challenge when the student is ready.
