Technology

At Canterbury, technology is fully integrated into the learning experience and used in a multitude of activities that require students to think, analyze, and create. Lower school classes have access to two mobile MacBook carts and one mobile iBook cart used for in-class instruction. The middle school boasts an eMac lab for students with twenty-three online machines, and students are engaged in writing and research projects that involve visits to the computer lab for many of their classes. Two mobile MacBook carts provide laptop computers for middle school students to use in their classroom settings. All classrooms in the lower and middle school buildings are outfitted with SMARTBoards, which are interactive white boards that enhance teaching and learning.

Classroom projects, especially in grades 5-8, incorporate digital cameras, midi keyboards, mobile iPod language labs, and video camcorders, allowing students to learn the different components of the Apple iLife series of applications, including iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, and GarageBand, and how they easily integrate to create impressive multimedia presentations. Middle School students also learn to use InDesign and Photoshop.
